City Council Meeting Summary, February 5, 2018
The following provides a summary of actions taken by the City Council as part of the regular meeting on February 5, 2018:
Certificate of Appreciation: the Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation for the Kindness Campaign led by Cornell Elementary Room 20 students.
Proclamation: the Council presented a Proclamation in honor of African American History Month.
East Bay Community Energy: the Council received a presentation for the formation process and an update of the Community Choice Aggregation Program. The first phase roll out will be for municipal and commercial accounts in June 2018. The second phase of roll out will be for the residential accounts in late Fall of 2018.
Safety & Traffic Calming Improvements on Washington Avenue between Pierce and Cerrito: the Council approved safety and traffic calming improvements for Washington Avenue between Pierce & Cerrito including north sidewalk closure, raised crosswalk, speed humps, painted bulbout, a parking enforcement program which allows vehicle parking on north sidewalks, and a parking occupancy survey.
Sugar Sweetened Beverage Tax Draft Expenditure Plan: the Council gave direction to staff on prioritization and inclusion of the expenditure plan in the fiscal year 2018-19 budget.
The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
