The Friendship Club is an after-school recreation program for children in grades 1-5 attending Albany elementary schools (Marin, Cornell, and Ocean View). The program provides a well-supervised environment for children to make friends, enhance self-esteem and develop social skills.

After-School Program

The Friendship Club offers a variety of activities from indoor/outdoor games, afternoon snack as well as a supervised homework period daily from 4:00-5:00 pm. Our program fosters an atmosphere that allows children to be entertained in a safe after-school setting. We are located in Ocean View Park, 900 Buchanan St., and Memorial Park, 1331 Portland Ave.  in Albany. 

Program hours are 1:55 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a full capacity of 55 students. A minimum attendance of three days per week is required, and morning care and drop-in services are not available. Services include daily transportation from Albany elementary schools to our facility.  Scheduling/Fee Notes

Wednesdays/Minimum Days (all children dismissed at 1:45 pm) - Friendship Club Staff adjusts to accommodate student's schedules. Please note that if your child attends our program on Wednesday and is released from school after 3:00 pm, a $15.00 charge will be assessed to your monthly bill.

Fees are based on a 4-week month, averaged over the school year from September to June. The program you choose is calculated by the number of days you choose per week x 4 weeks.

Enrollment in the program is on a first-come/first-served basis, with priority given to full-time participants (5 days per week). Part-time participants (3 or 4 days) will be notified as to their status in the program by August 1, 2018.

The days you choose are for the entire school year. No schedule changes will be allowed after September 30.

Specialty Camps
Participants who are interested in activities during the Mid-Winter and Spring Break weeks can register for our Specialty Camps offered in February and April. These are one-week long camps featuring off-site trips, visits from age-appropriate, child-friendly agencies, arts, crafts and group game activities. Camps run all-day from 8:00 am-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with no drop-in service available.

Summer Camp
During the summer break, Friendship Club morphs into an all-day camp offering its participants two excursions to various fun locations each week, bowling at Albany Bowl on Mondays and an on-site movie every Friday. Program hours are 8:00 am-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday (no drop-ins). You can register for one week at a time or you can register for multiple weeks. Check out this Summer's Camp Schedule!
