ONGOING CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES
Instructors from the Albany Adult School, contract instructors and volunteers teach a wide range of classes such as World Affairs, Watercolor, Folk Dances, Memoirs and much more! SERVICES
Albany Tri City Café
Make new friends and enjoy a delicious, well-balanced dinner provided Monday through Friday at 4pm. Reservation required. Suggested donation: $2.50.
Meals on Wheels
Delivered five days a week to homebound seniors. The food is delivered hot and is equivalent to a third of the recommended daily allowance. Enrollment required.
Mercy Brown Bag
Twice a month distributes grocery bags of nutritional food to seniors on a fixed income. Enrollment required.
Paratransit Services
East Bay Paratransit (EBP)
The East Bay Paratransit is a partnership formed by AC Transit and BART to provide Federally-mandated ADA service. EBP is the main provider of paratransit services. Services are available to anyone who cannot use AC Transit or BART because of a disability. You must become ADA certified to qualify for Paratransit Services.
Albany Paratransit Services
Using Measure B Funds, Albany Paratransit is able to provide transportation alternatives to Albany residents 80 years and over and people with disabilities. Enrollment is required to use Albany Paratransit Services. An application must be completed and submitted with required documentation to the Albany Senior Center.
Taxi Program
This program provides a refund on taxi rides. Clearly marked receipts must be turned in at the Senior Center to receive a refund by mail.
Shopping Van
The Albany Paratransit Shopping van picks up each participant at their home, drives to a nearby grocery store where shopping is done on their own and then returns each participant safely to their home. Shopping van trips are planned on Wednesday and Thursday. Fee: $3.00 round trip.
Transit tickets
BART and East Bay Paratransit tickets can be purchased at the Albany Senior Center.
Senior BART tickets: $9.00 for $24.00 worth of rides
East Bay Paratransit Booklet: $30.00 for 10 tickets

Health Insurance Counseling
2nd and 4th Monday of each month 1-3pm
Assistance on insurance, Medicare and Medical issues provided by a HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) volunteer counselor. Call the Senior Center to make an appointment.
Podiatry
Fridays, September 7 & November 2 9am-12pm
Appointments available with a licensed Podiatrist for a very low cost. Call the Senior Center to make an appointment.
Over 60 Health Clinic
September 12 & November 14 1-3pm
A nurse provides foot care, blood pressure checks, medication review, and more. Drop in only. No appointment necessary.

The Albany Senior Center maintains up-to-date information on services available to seniors in Alameda County.
Rent the Facility
The Albany Senior Center is a wonderful place to host a meeting, party, banquet, or get-together. The center has one large room with kitchen that accommodates up to 75 people and a small classroom that accommodates up to 35 people. Call Nick Jordan at the Senior Center at 524-9122 for availability and price quote.
