Recruitment Title: School Crossing Guard

Applicants must be available to work weekdays, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
School Crossing Guard recruitment is ongoing, for positions that may become available over the next 12 months. The School Crossing Guards are responsible for reporting to a designated municipal street corner and safely escorting school age children across busy crosswalks and/or intersections.
Albany's School Crossing Guards enjoy a high degree of respect from children, parents, and all other members of our community.
Successful School Crossing Guards are reliable and responsible, and display energy and enthusiasm in working with children. Exercising sound independent judgment in the conduct of work is essential.
Salary Range
Earn $49.14 to $59.71 per school day.
Example of Duties
- Escort children across busy crosswalks and/or intersections.
- Monitor the flow of traffic to ensure safe passage.
- May interact with parents, school personnel, city employees, and others.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

| Tuesday through Thursday | 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |
| Friday | 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. |
