We call ourselves the ATF, but that may mean the Albany Tree Force, a group of dedicated volunteers who enrich our urban forest. The Albany Tree Fund is just that - a tree fund for the Albany urban forest. As we plant more trees and generally upgrade the urban forest, there is a cost involved. City funding is sparse and doled out to many competing interests.
The Albany Tree Fund has been set up so that people can place money into the fund and know that the monies are used for more trees, stakes and ties, more young tree pruning and more concrete removed so that green is the color of our streets. It is our hope that not only individuals but also corporations and government agencies will fund our vision of an Albany with a green canopy cover. The Albany Tree Fund is used for that purpose - planting and enriching the urban forest.
Contact Tony Wolcott, Albany’s Urban Forester, for more information and how you can donate to the fund.
