The Environmental Resources Division manages the City’s urban environment to promote a greener, sustainable Albany. The Environmental Resources program areas include clean water, solid waste and recycling, climate protection, and Green Albany outreach. Environmental Resources has partnered with green economic development and the Urban Forestry Program within the City’s Sustainability Environment and Economic Development Program (Program SEED). These partnerships are designed to provide an integrated approach to economic development that includes sustainability, community development and economic gardening. The Environmental Resources Division also serves as staff liaison to the City’s Sustainability Committee.
