The City Treasurer is an elected official who is responsible for receiving and safely keeping the City monies and securities pursuant to the City Charter. The City Treasurer also maintains the City's investments, the primary investment vehicle being the State of California's Local Agency Investment Fund (L.A.I.F.) The Treasurer is a member of the Board and Treasurer for the Police and Fire Relief and Pension Fund, tracking investment activities and overseeing the maintenance of its financial records. The City Treasurer is also responsible for overseeing the collection of business and dog licenses, and real property transfer tax.
