Lance Calkins Fire ChiefAs the Fire Chief for the City of Albany, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our web-site. Please take a few minutes to make yourself familiar with its contents.

There are several links at our web-site that can provide a myriad of useful information for disaster preparations and fire prevention. Your fire department is available to help you at all hours of the day, every day of the week. We operate seven days a week and 24 hours a day and staff an engine, truck, and an ambulance with a total of six personnel.

We have information on our residential smoke alarms ordinance which allows only photoelectric smoke alarms to be installed in every residence. It is important to know that when a medium to large scale disaster does occur, we will need YOU to be prepared at home, work, and even in your car! Although your fire department staff is very dedicated and does a lot of work, there simply are not enough personnel or equipment at hand. We need your help to be prepared for up to a week on your own.

On behalf of all of us at your Albany Fire Department and the City of Albany are proud to be your city staff. We thank you for visiting and feel free to contact us should you have any questions or wish to offer suggestions.
