The Albany City Council places a high priority on furthering economic vitality within the City of Albany. The City is host to many outstanding restaurants, local shops, and continues to grow on a regular basis adding even more vibrancy to our "Urban Village by the Bay".

The City Council recently adopted an Economic Development Strategic Plan to help outline strategies and goals to further economic development within Albany. The Economic Development Strategic Plan was developed in coordination with local economic development experts, and the City's Economic Development Committee.

An Implementation Plan for the Economic Development Strategic Plan is currently under development, and the City Council reviewed the proposed Implementation Plan at the Council Meeting on November 20, 2017. The Implementation Plan helps further outline how City staff, the Economic Development Committee, and other groups will coordinate on implementing and realizing the goals outlined in the Economic Development Plan.
