AFF 2020 Cancellation

We regret to inform you that the 10th Annual Albany FilmFest hosted by the City of Albany and scheduled to take place between March 21 & 29, 2020 is canceled until further notice due to the heightened health risk of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. This difficult decision was made in order to follow guidelines received on March 7 from the California Department of Public Health recommending that non-essential large gatherings should be cancelled or postponed, and after noting that other popular festivals and events have been similarly cancelled.

Albany FilmFest is a popular week-long celebration of independent short films that annually brings hundreds of people. We are extremely grateful to the filmmakers, our sponsors and to our volunteers who have put an enormous amount of time and effort to plan the 10th Annual Albany FilmFest.

The health and safety of our attendees, staff and volunteers and community is our top priority. As such, out of an abundance of caution, and in line with the recommendations of public health officials, cancelling the Albany FilmFest is the prudent thing to do.

On behalf of the City of Albany, we would like to thank our community for your understanding and support at this time.
