Each May, Waste Management of Alameda County sponsors a Compost Giveaway event in the City of Albany (for Albany residents only).
The 2019 Compost Giveaway was held on May 4, 2019. Over 350 residents came to pick up compost, and many also stayed to participate in the Recreation Department's Memorial Park Cleanup event.
